Search Engine Optimisation is the process of modifying your website to push it as close as possible to the top of the results pages of one or more search engines.

There are two aspects of search engine optimization:

  1. Structuring and writing the content of the site itself so that it's clear what the site is about (to a search engine) and that each page has good SEO. 
  2. Generating high quality links to a site (not only so people visit your site via these links, but also because search engines count each valid link to your site as a 'vote of confidence'.

Search Engine Optimization involves the following:

  • Metatags (the Title, Description and Keywords of each page that are there primarily for search engines).
  • Titles used on a page (H1 - H6 Titles in HTML).
  • The content of each page, particularly the home page.
